The Glowbus Dewdrop is more than a fire pit — it’s an outdoor sculpture that blends functional fire with iconic form.
Inspired by Nature
The design is shaped like a falling droplet of water, capturing the elegance and stillness of a single dewdrop frozen in time. This organic silhouette gives the Dewdrop a timeless, natural presence that integrates seamlessly into both contemporary and rustic outdoor spaces.
Sculptural Craftsmanship
Each Dewdrop is hand-fabricated from solid Corten steel, a material chosen not just for strength but for how it ages beautifully. Over time, it forms a warm, rust-hued patina that enhances its sculptural presence and protects the steel underneath.
Designed for Experience
The Dewdrop's form isn't just for aesthetics — its tapered shape creates a natural chimney effect, improving airflow and giving the flames a lively, mesmerising movement. The interior is designed to cradle the fire and reflect warmth outward, inviting people to gather around.
Available in 3 Scaled Sizes
- Dewdrop M – Ideal for intimate settings (1–5 people)
- Dewdrop L – The most popular size (4–12 people)
- Dewdrop XL – A commanding centrepiece for large spaces (8–25 people)
Each size maintains the exact proportions of the original design, ensuring visual harmony at any scale.
Minimalist, Meaningful, and Made to Last
The Dewdrop balances bold visual impact with a refined, minimalist ethos — a rare combination that makes it feel equally at home in urban courtyards, countryside gardens, or architectural landscapes. It’s a fire pit that doesn’t shout — it radiates.
A Fire That Becomes Part of the Landscape
As the seasons pass and the steel darkens, your Dewdrop evolves with its environment — a living piece of art that only gets better with time.
The Glowbus Dewdrop is crafted entirely from premium Corten steel, a weathering steel renowned for its durability and natural beauty. This high-performance material forms a stable, rust-colored patina that enhances both strength and aesthetics over time — lasting eight times longer than regular steel.
- Thickness: The Dewdrop M and L models are built with 10 mm thick Corten steel, while the XL version boasts 12 mm thickness, ensuring exceptional robustness and an enduring presence.
- Weather-Resistant Performance: Corten steel excels in the outdoors — standing up to temperatures from –1 000 °C to +1 000 °C and withstanding winds of up to 200 km/h (125 mph)
The Glowbus Dewdrop is built to thrive outdoors — in all climates, all year round. Its exceptional durability comes from its construction: each Dewdrop is forged entirely from solid Corten steel, a material engineered to endure even the harshest weather conditions.
Built to Withstand the Elements
- Rain, snow, frost, sun – 100% outdoor-rated and designed to remain outside permanently.
- Temperature resistance from −1000 °C to +1000 °C – perfect for extreme environments.
- Handles wind speeds up to 200 km/h (125 mph) without compromise.
Naturally Weathering Steel (Corten)
- Corten steel forms a protective patina over time, acting as a built-in barrier against further corrosion.
- This patina evolves with exposure to air and moisture — creating the iconic rusted aesthetic while ensuring long-term structural integrity.
- Unlike traditional rust, this layer is stable and self-sealing, making the Dewdrop virtually maintenance-free.
Runoff Consideration During Patina Phase
- In the first few months, the patina process may cause rust runoff that can stain light or porous surfaces.
- To avoid this, Glowbus recommends:
- Placing the Dewdrop on gravel, grass, or darker stone
- Or using the optional DropShield accessory to protect delicate flooring
Year-Round Enjoyment
No covers, no moving indoors, no seasonal fuss — the Glowbus Dewdrop is designed to live outdoors and grow more beautiful with time, no matter the season.
The Glowbus Dewdrop is designed to be a permanent feature — a sculptural fire pit that blends effortlessly into its surroundings while standing up to the elements all year round. To get the most out of its performance and appearance, proper placement is key.
Recommended Surfaces
- Gravel, grass, or earth – Ideal for natural drainage and surface tolerance.
- Concrete or stone patios – Suitable, though note potential rust runoff in early months. To avoid use in conjunction with DropShield accessory.
- Decking or delicate surfaces - such as porcelain tiles – Only with a DropShield accessory to insulate and protect.
Patina Runoff Warning
In the first few months, as the Corten steel develops its protective patina, surface runoff may cause staining on light or porous surfaces (e.g. pale stone or tiles).
To avoid this:
- Place your Dewdrop on non-sensitive ground
- Or use the optional Glowbus DropShield, which discreetly protects beneath the fire pit.
Mobility
- Dewdrop M & L: Can be tipped and rolled gently to reposition.
- Dewdrop XL: Due to its weight (425 kg), professional placement with lifting equipment is advised.
Safety Considerations
- Always place the Dewdrop on a flat, stable surface
- Maintain safe distance from buildings, overhangs, or flammable materials
- Ensure proper ventilation in open outdoor areas
Final Tip:
Think of your Glowbus as a permanent outdoor sculpture — position it somewhere that draws the eye and invites people to gather.

What type of patina can I expect to see on a Glowbus Dewdrop corten steel fire sculpture?
The surface of each of Glowbus Dewdrop corten steel fire sculptures is supplied in natural corten metal. leave outside all year round to develop in colour and enjoy the sculpture without concern to the structural integrity of our collection.
Corten steel will continue to patina over time, aging to a beautiful dark mocha hue. Eventually, it will look more like metal instead of showing off the bright yellow or orange colors that it started with.
The Rusting Process of Corten Steel — A Beautiful, Protective Transformation
The Glowbus Dewdrop is crafted entirely from Corten steel — a high-performance weathering steel designed to evolve over time.
Unlike ordinary steel, which rusts and weakens, Corten steel develops a stable, self-protecting oxide layer (commonly known as a patina). This layer forms naturally when the steel is exposed to air and moisture, and instead of degrading the metal, it acts as a durable barrier that slows further corrosion.
How It Works:
- Initial Exposure: When first placed outdoors, the raw Corten steel begins to react with the elements (air, humidity, and rain).
- Patina Formation: Over the course of several weeks to months, the surface develops a warm, rust-colored patina.
- Sealing Effect: Once formed, this patina becomes stable and non-flaking, protecting the steel beneath from deeper corrosion.
- No Maintenance Required: This process happens naturally, with no need for sealing, painting, or upkeep.
Note on Surface Runoff:
During the early stages of weathering, rust particles may wash off in rain and can temporarily stain light-colored stone or paving. For this reason, Glowbus recommends using the DropShield accessory or placing your Dewdrop on gravel, grass, or a non-sensitive surface during the first few months.
The Result:
A unique, living finish that deepens in character over time — making each Glowbus Dewdrop visually distinct while offering lifelong structural integrity.
- No regular upkeep needed – The natural weathering process of Corten steel is self-sustaining and protective. There's no need for sealing, painting, or coating.
- Ash removal – If burning wood, remove ashes occasionally to maintain airflow and prevent buildup. For occasional use, a seasonal clean-out is sufficient.
- Surface cleaning – Light brushing with a soft broom or cloth can help remove debris or leaves. Do not use harsh chemicals, as they may disrupt the natural patina process.
Weather Resistance
- Fully weatherproof — Designed to stay outdoors year-round, in all seasons.
- The Corten steel will form a protective patina, shielding the interior from corrosion.
Staining During Patina Formation
- In the first few months, runoff from surface rust may cause staining on pale or porous surfaces.
- Use the Glowbus DropShield or position your Dewdrop on gravel, grass, or darker stone to avoid marking.
If Using the Bioethanol Kit
- Check fuel levels and clean burner components periodically, following EcoSmart Fire’s maintenance guidelines.
- Store bioethanol safely in a cool, dry place away from the fire feature.
Long-Term Durability
- The Corten steel body will evolve visually, developing deeper tones over time.
- All Glowbus Dewdrops are designed as lifetime pieces, aging naturally with no structural degradation.
Effortless upkeep, iconic design. The Glowbus Dewdrop is made to be enjoyed — not maintained.
